For selecting the players/pairs the BEC European U17 Ranking from 05/09/2022 has been used.

Before the withdrawal deadline has passed, a promotion from the “Waiting List” to the Main draw is obligated and will be done automatically, unless the respective player/pair has withdrawn from the “Waiting List” beforehand.

Please use the online entry system to withdraw a player, if the withdrawal is before the withdrawal deadline.

After the withdrawal deadline has passed, the organisers must have such a promotion confirmed in writing by the Member/Members of the respective player/pair before it takes place. Only when this confirmation has been given, the player/pair is considered as an entry. The respective Member(s) need(s) to confirm the promotion within 48h after the message has been sent by the organisers or latest at the start of the Team Managers Meeting if it takes place less than 48h after the message has been sent. If no confirmation is given within this timeframe, it will be considered as the player/pair not accepting the promotion (reg. 12.4 of the Badminton Europe U17 circuit regulations).

For selecting the players/pairs the BEC European U17 Ranking from ranking 06/09/2021 has been used.

Please be informed that following the re-start of U17 Circuit tournaments in Europe, the BEC European U17 ranking will be updated as below:
Players will receive points for their participation in U17 Circuit tournaments but the ranking will be rolled onwards without dropping off past weeks/tournaments at this time so that players who were unable to travel and compete will not be unduly penalized, so effectively becoming a ranking of more than 52 weeks. This way of updating the ranking was decided in order to follow the method used by the BWF to update the BWF Junior Rankings (announced on 06/08/2020). The ranking will be updated as described above until it can be unfrozen.

Please circulate the link and the text above about the BEC European
U17 ranking as soon as possible to all participating associations and
add this to your tournament’s website latest this Sunday, together
with the date of the BEC European U17 Ranking used.

Would you also kindly reply to all the withdrawal requests you’ll get
before the withdrawal deadline, asking the associations to withdraw
their players using the online entry system? The entry lists will then
be updated online accordingly.

As the maximum number of entries was not reached, you might want to
play with a different schedule than the provisional schedule initially
published in the invitation, as per regulation 6.4 of the BEC U17
Circuit regulations: ‘’The final frame schedule (with the exact
planned conclusion of all matches) shall be made at least 20 days
before the start of the tournament and shall be published on the
organiser’s website. Such a final frame schedule cannot change unless
special circumstances arise and the referee and the Chairman of the
BADMINTON EUROPE Circuit Commission approve such a change.’’

Cancellation Austrian U17 International 2020!

With a heavy heart we had to decide to cancel the Austrian U17 International 2020 after all, which would have taken place from October 16th to 18th in Mödling.

We tried very hard and tried everything to give the sport a chance in times like these. However, due to latest restrictions and due to the unpredictable and short-term future government decisions, in both Austria and in Europe, we are forced to cancel the tournament. This decision was very difficult for us and we are very sad and very sorry! We tried everything to the end and made a great effort to make the tournament possible. However, the current developments have left us little chance and ultimately no other choice.

We hope that the situation will calm down by next year and that we can welcome you all back to Mödling at the Austrian U17 International 2021!
